1262.  EBB to Julia Martin

May 27th 1843.

Dearest Mrs Martin,

I relieve your first fear by disowning any intention of teazing you to death—but I forgot yesterday to say that I was glad of the prosperity of your brother, [1] & just because you know I think as you do about the Irish Church, I am afraid of your imagining me capable of making the omission on purpose. After all however that we may say & think against this aforesaid Irish Church, it’s nearly as good as the English one, if not quite: of which perhaps I am more deeply persuaded than you are–
