[Florence]

[?10] [September 1848] [1]

Dear Mr Ware,—I could not help calling this morning to hear about your projects—& to say how glad we shall be to see you in the evening if you can manage it. —In any case,—you will surely write to us from Rome, will you not? We shall be most anxious to know you have arrived safely—but I will hope to see you again if but for a few minutes–

Ever yours

R Browning.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library.

1. Dating suggested by reference to Ware’s departure for Rome, the date of which is given as 11 September 1848 in the Passport Register in the State Archives of Florence.
