[London]

[ca. 18 September 1852] [1]

My dearest Fanny,

I send back the letter, & should like to know the writer– [2] Thank you for letting me see it– Thank you, too, for coming to pass that evening with me, and for finding it endurable without Robert. I shall be anxious to hear of you—but I shall see you, .. shant I?, .. when you come back to London in a week. The books go to you today, addressed as you bade me– Such haste I write in! May God bless you–

Your very affectionate

Ba.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library.

1. Dating suggested by EBB’s references to “that evening” and to Fanny Haworth’s leaving London for a week. In letter 3107 EBB invited Fanny for Wednesday, 15 September 1852, which was possibly the “evening” mentioned here. In letter 3124 EBB indicates that Fanny left London some days later than originally planned.

2. Unidentified.
