Correspondence

608.  RB to John Kenyon [1]

As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 4, 7.

Camberwell

Jan 11. [1838]

My dear Sir,

I shall be delighted to dine with you to-morrow week: had I guessed you were a house-keeper thus long, something more substantial than a card should have assured you how much I am,

Yours very faithfully,

R Browning.

My father sends his kindest regards—and will assuredly see you this season, I hope.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library.

1. Correspondent inferred from letter 569. As it was RB’s habit to include his full address early in a correspondence, and thereafter to shorten it, the presumption is that this letter was written later than no. 569.
