As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 25, 290.

[?Rome]

Thursday, 10oclock [?25 November 1858] [1]

Dear Mrs Story,

We this moment get your letter– We shall count on your keeping your promise to dine with us, after our free & easy fashion, at 6 oclock– I have not time to say more, or how rejoiced we shall be to see you–

Yours ever truly

RB

Ba’s kind love—& Pen’s–

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: McGill University.

1. Conjectural date suggested by RB’s implication that he was about to see Mrs. Story for the first time since the Brownings’ arrival in Rome. In letter 4291 EBB writes that the Storys “passed one evening here.”
