Dear Cousin

I enclose a letter from 3 M. X. Our friend had not seemingly recd my letter– Have written her a similar one today—but in your father’s kindly Spirit that the thing has been done—perhaps wisely (I did not say worldly-wisely) done—but that I should not have counselled & do not approve it– That I do not write this to return again to the subject—but merely to put herself in a true position with Her brothers—and that we will agree to differ on this point & to agree on all others– I send the paper—return it as soon as you have done with it–
