Addendum to the text of The Brownings’ Correspondence, vol. 5.

My dear Mr Kenyon,

I have waited for an opportunity which does not come—& so now I must write to you just to say that Miss Mitford excited by my tale-telling about your wishing to see her, has built herself up a dream of receiving you “after Christmas” which is now– Mr Lucas is to [be] with them & she wants you to crown his visit with yours.

I venture to detain the casts still a few days.

While I write, your parcel arrives. Thank you, dear Mr Kenyon! and thank you too & not least for the kind promise for tomorrow.
