My dear Browning,

One word to say that I have got your Letter [1] & that I am here—& shall be here in all probability when you reach London. If so I hereby shake you by the hand—& tell you that we shall all be very glad when you come back to Old England, & live among us. When will this be? Surely things may now be managed so that all your family may now reside in England. You can have your Summer quarters abroad, if you like, but come & live & die in Shakespeare Land–

As for me, I am old & infirm & stupid & shall not be alive unless you come soon.

I am now & at all times
