My dear Mrs Kinney

We were very sorry to find your card last night, showing what we had missed.

Do make it up to us this evening by coming & taking tea with us sans façon, and you shall see Miss Hosmer the sculptor, who, with my friend Miss Blagden, has promised to do the same– Come early—at eight?–

Most truly yours

Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library.

1. Conjectural date based on Harriet Hosmer’s early July 1854 arrival in Florence and following her visit to Venice.
