Cher monsieur Browning

George Sand

Dear Mr Browning

Can you give some letters of recommendation for London to a friend of mine who is going into exile, which you can guarantee in every respect. He will tell you himself what kind of connections he would like to be able to establish abroad; his name is Fulbert Martin, attorney.

I am charging him with giving me news of your dear companion whom I so regret not having gone to kiss before leaving Paris.

Yours

George Sand
