My dear Mrs Brice,

How I wish I could do more than just say—if I can by any chance go to you to-morrow evening I will: but it is very uncertain: I lunch at a friend’s at 2,—must return here, & then—will it not be too late? If I can, however, certainly I will, & be happy—but don’t expect me, and as for dinner, that is implied by the word “luncheon”. With best regards to Mr Brice,
