Will you my dear Mrs Stratten, kindly accept from my sister Arabel & myself, the little work-table [1] we venture to send you to keep us in your remembrance? The painting on the top of it is Arabel’s doing [2] —but the wish that the whole may be acceptable to you in some humble degree, is common to us both–

1. An early 19th-century bois clair rectangular work table, with single drawer over pull out silk covered wool box, on shaped supports. The table is at the Armstrong Browning Library.

2. The hinged top is decorated with a barnyard scene executed in oils.
