1264. EBB to Benjamin Robert Haydon
As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 7, 154.
[London]
May 27. 1843–
Here is my receipt– I receive the mss gratefully, & will keep them carefully, & will be silent of them, confidentially—that is, I will not communicate to any human being, father or sister, the things which I shall find therein.
As for the burning—if you hear they are burnt, I myself shall be sure to be in the same funeral pile. [1] Read & trust–
Your friend
Elizabeth B Barrett
