1474.5. John Kenyon to EBB
Addendum to The Brownings’ Correspondence, vol. 8.
York Terrace
28th Decr [1843]
Dear E.B.B.
We were right and all the rest were wrong. Il n’y a que nous. The Book—the beautifully written book—with its unsatisfactory—stilted—false Stoicism of the sick room—the book was not dedicated to E.B.B.– To whom I know not—probably to any Invalid– But all those who know you know you were worthy of such a dedication and so thought of You.–
I go to Torquay direct—on Friday Morning—DV—and propose to come back—direct—about the 8th—when I shall knock at your door to know how the wicked preventing cough is–
My love to Flush—now he has ceased to bite me–
Always affly yrs
John Kenyon
