How can I thank my own Addles for her sweet and pretty letter? A most difficult and comprehensive question addressed to the brain but answered by the heart!! I am as happy as possible and have delightful fun though Dr barren (see your letter) has confined me to my bed and my sofa. He seems to have a penchant for the pillow in any case as he has desired me not to get up on any account till very late. I have no doubt but that I shall ere long be perfectly restored to health indeed it is physically impossible to be long an invalid in Gloucester– You know my ever loved Addles that sickness is not an inspiring theme and I protest I have nothing to say of any thing else– Let me hear from you soon–
