My dear Mr Kenyon,
I hardly know the engagement I should not have a right to break in order to see you after a year’s interval! Of course I will come and be happy. My Mother and Sister congratulate themselves that you were turned back by that same snowstorm, as the latter, (my mother’s right hand and interpreter) was in the country. They both, and my father, (all within arm’s length, as I write)—send their kindest regards.

Here is lying a “Proof” of my new Play, [2] which ought to go to the Printer’s—but a great thought comes—I will enclose it with this,—you may find a few minutes in the course of to-morrow, and run thro’ it—on Saturday I shall have it again, together with “the excellent oil which shall not break the head,” [3] of any censure that may occur to you!– As easily done as said!
