Did I not once lend you, or Miss Flower, my copy of Landor’s Poems? I want to refer to them in a hurry, for somebody’s sake, and should be much obliged if you could so far trouble yourself as to get them sent here by the Parcels-Delivery-Company, at your convenience.

1. Conjecturally dated by the stationery that bears a blind emboss of the Prince of Wales’s plume in use by RB in 1844. It is possible that RB wanted to refer to Landor when suggesting mottos to R.H. Horne for his A New Spirit of the Age (see letter 1533).
