Dearest friend you ask for [‘]one line’ & shall have it. I am nearly worn out with the weather—weak & weary—& it is an effort to take pleasure .. as in writing to you. But you shall hear tomorrow. I am not, be sure, ill in the serious sense—only weak & low– If such weather lasted, life wd scarcely be worth the trouble, even with Balzac under the pillow.
