I had never thought of Mrs. S. C. Hall. [2] Oh how those excellent authors & authoresses do accumulate as I proceed. Still, I hope to be done with them soon now.
Do you know Mrs Norton’s poetry? [3] Much I have seen, I thought very good of its kind. More high-minded in its personal aggrievedness, and less reproachful & vindictive than Ld Byron. What do you think?
I send you a picture book for you to take a few poetical suggestions from—and thoughts. I have got another for myself, so pray keep this. The author has been so complimentary as to quote “Orion” in it, and my old by-gone poem of “Hecatompylos” [4] —tho’ he does not appear to know that it was written by me.
