Correspondence

1569.  Richard Hengist Horne to EBB

As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 8, 259.

[Shoreham]

March 16/44

My dear Miss Barrett, I fancy, by some expressions in a letter I have had from Mrs Norton, expressive of interest in you, and estimation, that she would like to write to you. She has asked me if you reside in London. May I give her your address?

I am at the sea—at Shoreham—and not well—a nervous headache and cold. I conclude—being in no state to continue.

Yours always

H.

Address: Miss E. B. Barrett / 50 Wimpole St / Cavendish Sqre / London.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Pierpont Morgan Library.
