Miss Barrett thanks Messrs Knibb & Co for their punctual attendance to her wishes, and would be much obliged if they would recieve back “Warburtons letters”, and “Pizarro”, about which she has changed her intentions. She would be glad to purchase Reid at 4s ‘Suetonius’ at 3s and Rogers in boards—also Mr Campbells new Poem “Theodric.” If made up in a parcel they shall be called for. The Money for all except ‘Pleasures of Memory’ & ‘Theodric,’ is enclosed. [3]

3. Of the books mentioned here, only one can be identified as having been sold in Browning Collections, namely Theodric; a Domestic Tale, and other Poems, by Thomas Campbell (London, 1824). EBB added the inscription: “E.B. Barrett, given to her by her dearest Papa.” (Reconstruction, A565.) Of the items listed in note 2, two were sold in Browning Collections. They were Philosophical Essays, by Dugald Stewart (Edinburgh, 1816), (Reconstruction, A2211); and Sophocles’ Tragœdiœ Septem, 2 vols., ed. T. Johnson (Etonæ, 1799), (Reconstruction, A2175).
EBB wrote a 25-page essay on another of Stewart’s works, Elements of the Philosophy of the Human Mind (see Reconstruction, D1286).
