[Hope End]

[ca. July 1824] [1]

A thousand congratulations to my loved Ba on this [“]joyous reconciliation”—a source of such comfort & delight for many a year I trust!– Your dear letters were both gratification & amusement to me– Most happy I am sure you are, I hope you will persuade dearest Grandmama to try Malvern Waters– My sweet Addles, thank you for your dear note! the affecte attention of my dearest absentees is welcome to our hearts. Papa read Ba’s letter with the greatest delight–

May God bless you both!——

Address, on integral page: Elizh & Hentta.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Scripps College.

1. Preceding letter indicates that EBB’s uncle Sam was seeking her help toward a rapprochement with her father. Presumably that is the “joyous reconciliation” mentioned here.
