1934.  EBB to Henry Crabb Robinson

June 1. 1845–

Miss Barrett presents her compliments to Mr Crabbe Robinson, & thanks him much for his goodness in allowing her to look over the Percy books [1] which arrived quite in time after all delays, & which in virtue of the precedent, & of Mr C Robinson’s goodnature, she will venture to keep a little longer than may appear necessary, also,—so as to make the two ends even. And she adds another line to say that she heard from their common friend dear Mr Kenyon two days ago, & that he speaks of being in town about the sixth, and of his journey as if he were enjoying it–

1. Presumably publications of The Percy Society, which was formed in 1840 “in commemoration of Bishop Percy, … for the Publication of Ballad Poetry. It was dissolved in 1852, after publishing ninety-six volumes” (DNB). To which of these volumes EBB is referring is unknown.
