Let this day pass away
In mirth festivity and joy
And you must come and with us play
And always love your darling boy.

We’ll deck your chair so very fine
With flowers both green and white
I hope we’ll have some cake and wine
And then we will be happy quite

My dearest Ba that’s all we want
To make us enjoy this happy day
I hope no one you will taunt
Now no more I have to say

Address, on integral page: To the Queen / of the day —
Publication: None traced.
Manuscript: Berg Collection.
1. Dated 1825 in a contemporary hand, but the quality of Alfred’s handwriting raises the possibility of a later year.
2. Signature was obviously intended as “Daisy,” the nickname of Alfred Moulton-Barrett, but it ran off the edge of the page.
