1. Manuscript was found with one of this date from Caroline Price to Mary Moulton-Barrett (SD636). The verso of this leaf bears 12 lines of EBB’s versification exercises, commencing “Ye nymphs of Solyma, begin the song.”

2. James Buller East (1789–1878) and his wife Caroline Eliza (née Leigh, 1794–1870). Garnstone Castle is near Weobley, Herefordshire; Adlestrop House, Gloucestershire, was one of the seats of the Leigh family.

3. Chandos Leigh (1791–1850), later Baron Leigh. Stoneleigh Abbey in Warwickshire, one of the family seats, completed in 1726, was an Italienate mansion built around the remains of an abbey.
