My dear Miss Blagden,

One word to say that we shall be delighted to see you tomorrow evening, & that we hope you will meet Madme Ossoli here. How sorry I am to find you have been suffering—more sorry than surprised, considering the weather.

Robert will tell you about his pictures—it is really a discovery. [2]

2. As reported in letter 2851, these pictures were described by Seymour Kirkup as a Giottino, a Ghirlandaio, a possible Cimabue, a crucifixion of Giotto’s time, and a Virgin and Child by a Byzantine master.
