[Florence]
Monday Night. [?March] [1851] [1]
My dear Ogilvy,
The address of Sig. Nencini is “Piazza Tolomei, No 16”: [2] if you show him my name at the bottom of this, & remind him that I lodged six months ago at Poggio al Vento,—I am sure he will be of any service to you in his power—for which,—tell him,—I thank him just as if it were done to myself.
Ever yours faithfully,
Robert Browning.
Address: David Ogilvy Esq.
Publication: EBB-EAHO, p. 32.
Manuscript: Eton College Library.
1. Dated by RB’s reference to his having stayed in Siena “six months ago.”
2. Nencini was an agent who arranged short-term leases, as well as various other services, for the Brownings and their circle at Siena.
