My dear Mrs Taylor,

Indeed you do misinterpret me,—and I would not, under any circumstances, have left England without writing to you as you desired. Not writing before was the result of a great press of occupation & engagements, and I waited till I could see light through the crowded days. As to tuesday, I think we shall not go on tuesday, though my husband suddenly fixed on that day for going, through fearing the effect upon me of the late fogs. But can you conveniently pay your visit to me on monday morning before two? Believe me, it will be a sincere pleasure to yours most faithfully
