[?13] [July 1852] [2]

Dear Browning– Pray dine with me on Thursday here instead of to-day at the club. (—at 7½.)

yrs

R. M. Milnes

Address: Robert Browning Esq / 58. Welbeck St.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Rutgers—The State University.

1. Upper Brook Street. Milnes lived at no. 16, as listed in the Brownings’ address book of this period (AB-3).

2. Conjecturally dated based on both the author and recipient being in London for most of July 1852. Presumably, the invitation refers to a meeting prior to a dinner on 23 July 1852 when Mrs. Milnes and EBB were included. 13 July 1852 was a Tuesday.
