My dear Mrs Martin,

I hope I may be fortunate enough to send you what you have not happened to have met with, & what you may not dislike to meet with. Otherwise pray return my selection & I will try to do better,—for my books will really be obliged to you for removing some of the dust they have no other chance of losing, by desiring their company over the hill. [2] Mama is tolerably comfortable today; but the rest of our party, from poor Henrietta to your little friend Sette, offer multiplied subjects for a tooth-ache martyreology. I am sorry not to be able to tell you the direction you ask for–
