3107. EBB to Euphrasia Fanny Haworth
As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 18, 211–212.
58 Welbeck street
Saturday. [11 September 1852] [1]
I was wrong about Monday after all, just as Arabel thought. We have an engagement with Mr Ruskin–
Therefore it’s all over for monday, but dont let it be all over for us—take wednesday, if you can, & give it to us.
And dont, for love’s sake & truth’s sake, have morbid fancies, blaspheming against deathless natures such as the soul’s,—& dont fancy, neither, that I do not understand & feel your kindness, or mislove you in return. No, indeed!
Your affectionate
Ba–
