1. This undated note bears a watermark of 1827. Arabella Graham-Clarke arrived at Hope End for an extended visit in March 1828. The earliest this note could have been written was shortly thereafter, although it might have been penned at any time prior to her departure, October 1829, or even during her 1831–32 visit. The Biddulphs or Peytons are possible recipients.
