Correspondence

3435.  EBB to Barbara Channing

As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 20, 248.

Casa Guidi

Thursday– [?22] [June 1854] [1]

Do be so kind, dear Miss Channing, as to persuade Mr Perkins to let Lizzie come at twelve on Saturday & dine with us at two. The first part of the day is the bright part for children, and she can go home early if you wish it– But there is room for play here without tiring me indeed– I would not ask if I did not really wish it.

Most truly yours

Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Radcliffe Institute.

1. Dating suggested by reference to letter 3436, in which EBB alludes to Lizzie Perkins’s recent visit to Casa Guidi.
