My dear Mrs Page I dont dare to go down stairs to say the word I am about to write–
You had the kindness to ask me to your loggia in these brilliant Carnival days which I shall be able to see nothing of, perhaps, after all. Will you receive my Penini instead of me, for a short time, either today or on another day, if we should send him? He had a place at a window yesterday, but too high up to enter into much of the glorious confusion of it, and really I cant trust him down in the street where it is his ambition to go, even with his Ferdinando, while yet I dont like to vex & disappoint the darling altogether–
But say ‘no’ if it should be in the least inconvenient to you, or I [2] shall be vexed–
