Correspondence

3416.  Adelaide Sartoris to EBB

As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 20, 217.

[Rome]

Sunday– [?14 May] [1854] [1]

Dear Mrs Browning—will you & Mr Browning come with me tomorrow & see one of the most beautiful of the places about Rome? I will call for you at 10 oclock if you say yes—the distance is not more than eleven miles, so I hope it may not be too much for you—very truly yours

Adelaide Sartoris

Address, on integral page: Mrs Browning / 43. Bocca di Leone.

Publication: None traced.

Manuscript: Yale University.

1. Conjectural dating suggested by Mrs. Sartoris’s invitation for “tomorrow.” In letter 3420 EBB states that she went on a picnic “ten days ago”; that is, on 15 May.
