As published in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 21, 205.

[London]

Saturday Evening [14 July 1855] [1]

Dear Mrs Browning

I don’t know what we were both thinking of today, when we spoke of our manifold engagements this week. I was thinking it was Monday—instead of Saturday: and meant that I would keep every day open for you in the week after next, when you said you were engaged all through the week. But next Wednesday, or Friday, would do well for me—if Mr Browning and you could come—to lunch—dinner—or tea—as you like best– My Father & Mother are just now at Tunbridge Wells– I may be there yet some time–

With sincere regards to Mr Browning

Most truly Yours

J Ruskin.

Address: Mrs Browning. / 13. Dorset St / Baker St.

Publication: DeLaura, p. 318.

Manuscript: Berg Collection.
