If it is weather for you tomorrow, dearest Sophie, it shall be weather for me. At this season in Italy I need not be afraid of keen winds– Therefore choose, decide, as for yourself– As for the hour .. I dont know when you dine. We dine at three usually,—& I shall be ready to go either from four,—or, if you prefer the earlier morning, from twelve– Only the sun might be too hot then.
To say the truth I would not let loose Peni on you today, chiefly because dear Doady upset him in another way than the physical one .. disturbed his poor little wits that would’nt settle to any manner of lessons through their joyful distraction. Think! He brought back a bad mark yesterday from his music-master, & could think of nothing but Do, when he ought to have been applying to his French & German. Today we are all right again ..
