My dear Mr Ruskin,
I am meaning to write to you but not today– This time it is simply to introduce to you, Mr Bridell, a very clever landscape painter, married here in Rome to the daughter of my husband’s old friend Mr Fox, of Oldham, who, she also, is devoted to art– For art’s sake, therefore, & our’s, will you suffer them to take your hand?
