Casa Guidi,
Wednesday Mg. [2 November 1859] [1]
Dear Madam,
I send at your desire two men for Mr Landor’s pictures.
I shall be much obliged by your kindly sending the other matters on the first fine day, as I am anxious to see Mr Landor comfortably disposed of by the end of the week.
I enclose the account which Mr Kirkup received.
Pray believe me,
Your obedient, humble servt
Robert Browning.
Publication: None traced.
Manuscript: Pierpont Morgan Library, Gordon N. Ray Bequest.
1. Dating based on RB’s first sentence and by reference to the accounts he kept for Landor. The entry for 3 November, a Thursday, reads: “Carriage of Pictures from Fiesole to Casa G. & Via N. … 24 [pauls]” (see vol. 26, p. 382). RB moved Landor into his rooms at 2671 Via Nunziatina on 8 November 1859.
