I am happy to write, in compliance with your kind wish, to tell you that Henrietta passed a very good night & is better this morning. She desires her love to you, & to your sisters,—in which Miss Clarke & I unite.

1. One of the daughters of John Biddulph, of Ledbury.
2. This letter could have been written during any one of Miss Graham-Clarke’s several visits to Hope End. However, the absence of Mary Moulton-Barrett’s name from those sending greetings suggests that the letter was written after her death. That would place the date of the letter between May 1831, when Miss Graham-Clarke arrived at Hope End, and August 1832, when she left with the family for Sidmouth.
