1. Dating based on Landor’s earlier references to RB’s having transcribed some of Landor’s writings and to preparing material for Fields (see letters 4619 and 4638). The brevity of this letter and the address being limited to the addressee’s name suggest that the Brownings and Landor were in Florence.
