Dearest Isa,

I thought it better to wait till now, so as to be able to give an account of the better half of our journey. [1] I cannot say it has been very favorable, the first day only, being warm in spite of the rain, and yesterday and to-day were cold, and indeed frosty. Ba has consequently suffered more than usual and the main struggle is with the anxieties and forebodings about her sister. <***> [2]
