My dear Twisleton,

Lady Lyell has just written to invite Peni to acquaintanceship with your nephew [1] next saturday—an arrangement evidently anterior to my own, and which I gladly agree to, therefore—hoping you will let me lose nothing—but rather gain another great pleasure. I mean to call in a morning or two and have the gratification of seeing Mrs Parkman, if she will permit it.

Truest regard to Mrs Twisleton, and all congratulation with yourself on the improvement of her health.

1. Henry Parkman (1850–1924), only son of Samuel Parkman (1816–54) and his wife, Mary (née Dwight, 1821–79), of Boston. He and his sister, Ellen Twistleton Parkman (1853–1930), accompanied by their mother, were in London during Ellen Twisleton’s illness.
