My dear Mr Lucas, [1]

I am unluckily engaged on Monday & unable to profit by your kindness,—being, moreover, in a crisis of house-taking which is likely to tax my time & try my patience for a week or two more: after then, I shall endeavour to make up for my many social losses.

Say a word for me to Mr Taylor, [2] whose acquaintance I have never meant to let go, he may depend on it.
