Dear Millais,

I have been meaning to go & see you ever since we met—& indeed before: it will soon happen now, I really think. Meanwhile, you will indulge me so far as to let me profit by your invitation by proxy, perhaps. I am anxious that Lord & Lady Carbery [2] should see your studio & whatever may be there: will you allow this (in favor of two very interesting people)—& greatly oblige
