My dear Allingham,

Two days hence I hope to leave London for Paris. I shall be away for two months & more: I “hope” for my father & sister’s sake—but I feel sorry & very sorry in finding that by going I lose you. It would have been a delight indeed to take your hand, you must know.

I have a Photograph for you—& will send it. I am settled here for a long while, & that makes me procrastinate & otherwise do foolishly. There seem so many & long years before one!
