Dear Sir,
I beg to acknowlg [sic] your favor enclosing B/Lading for 1 Case Pictures [1] ex Steamer @ Calais on the 25 ulto
I now beg to say the Case has been cleared at the Customs & forwarded to your address all in order.
You were quite correct in sending me the B/Lading for this Case but in future pray let me have same on the arrival of the vessel as I can then save you from many extra expences incurred in this instance.
Annexed I beg to hand the charges &c amounting to £4.13.4 a remittance for which at your convence will oblige–
You will perceive the Disbursements on charges sent forward from Calais are very heavy——
