My dear Miss Heaton,

Thank you for your goodness to Pen, and much kindness to me which I ought to have acknowledged before: I missed you on going away, & returning found notes which it was too late to profit by. I am here for a long time now, I hope: Pen is remarkably well, & I send a photograph taken in Paris [1] —in which you will already observe a change, I think.

Pray let me know whenever you come to Town.
