Offered for sale in AAA Catalogue, 5 November 1923, lot 140. 1 p., 12mo. RB writes: “If your first thoughts were wanting in discretion at least your deliberate actions are eminently good and reparative of wrong. There is not only ‘pull between us’ as you properly say, but, on my part, esteem and gratitude .. and all but this I shall forget. Mr. Smith [1] also writes as becomes a man of conscience and probity and promises me the letters.”
