You do me too much honor by supposing that any recommendation of mine can be of material service to you: such as it is, however, I can very honestly give it. I believe no one is more capable than yourself of fulfilling the duties of any post which requires a complete knowledge of the German Language; and that the University of London will be fortunate indeed if it secure your services. [2]
